You know how you take a lot of photos with your cell phone, but don't really do anything with them? This is my attempt at being proactive with my hundreds of pointless - though significant at the time - pictures currently taking up space on my battered old phone.

Not so popular anymore!

Last summer we went to a 'resort area' - I use the term loosely - in rural Saitama for the day. Apparently it was the place to be about 20 years ago and was famous for the soba or the water or the old-fashioned train or something like that.
(The whole town basically looked like this photo. Also, it took about 4 hours to get there. Suffice it to say we will not be returning any time soon.)

The sky is falling!

The other side of this coin purse had a picture of a sunny day, a donkey falling towards the ground and a person looking up with an '...oh shit...' expression. I will always regret not buying it.

The best date spot in Tokyo...

The Meguro Parasitological Museum, though small, is packed with two things: couples on dates, and all sorts of disgusting parasite-related artifacts. Lots of unidentifiable things in jars, and some pictures that will either freak you out or give you the giggles (elephantitis of the penis, for one). There's a small gift shop which sells key chains, t-shirts, postcards, etc., all adorned with parasites.

Fight! for beans.

These green beans were all-you-can-bag for about 200 yen. The grannies (and me) were all jockeying for position to pick through the crates - there were four - and stuff our bags as full as possible. Everyone loves a bargain!
